My Bridal Shower Brunch

I can't tell you how many bridal showers I have been to in my life. There have been so many, I can’t count and all have brought so much joy. It's truly magical and I will admit that although I have loved every single one of them, I have never envisioned having one of my own. Looking back now, I'm grateful I have a mother who encouraged (read pushed me extremely hard) me to have one. The memories made will stay with me forever! This time around, I was not involved with the planning which was hard. I didn’t know what I wanted or what to expect but I did know that I wanted it to be about all of us ladies being together in one room versus ‘all about the bride’. I think it was a success!

The invitations requested for guests to wear, “Their prettiest pinks, loveliest whites, or most colorful blooms”. And they did not disappoint! The cake was graciously created and gifted by my aunt and not to be biased, but it was hands down the best cake I have ever had. What a gift! All decor, planning and styling was done by my childhood friend, Cristal at #SugarBloomEvents

A bridal shower tradition that we did not miss, was the Toilet Paper Gown Game. For those that don’t know this game, the idea is to create a wedding gown out of toilet paper and the bride and/or guests have to choose which creative dress is the winner. The entire room was roaring with laughter and it is hands down one of the best memories of the day. Someone even dressed up one of our little girls as a flower girl. I was in tears from laughter!

Towards the end of the evenining, the two leading men in my life swung by to say hello. Luther had not met some of my extended family so it was a great opportunity for him to mingle and chat with all of the amazing women in my life. These pictures will hold a special place in my heart forever.

Thankful for my friends who did my makeup and hair for the event! Every detail was planned and coordinated by someone I’ve known since I was a little girl. How could this have gotten anymore intimate and special?! As they saying goes, it truly does take a village and this was no exception.

My dress is from House of CB because sharing is caring!
